Have a Festive and Safe Fourth of July!

Every morning in class, we recite the Pledge of Allegiance before we start our day.  Monday, July 4  is the day we celebrate our freedom and the right to live our lives to the fullest in our country.  Red Skelton was a comedian who was on TV when I was a little girl.  He explains in this clip what the pledge means. Take a minute to listen to what these words that we say every day are all about.

Celebrate your freedom on Monday and have a safe and happy holiday.  And of course, here are some books that you may want to check out of the library to help you understand the significance of the holiday.

My class loves this song, so here it is for you to play on the Fourth of July.  Enjoy your celebration of our freedom!
